Flick's options to replace Olmo against Monaco
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick is considering several alternatives to compensate for the absence of star Dani Olmo, who was injured in the match against Girona, which was held in the Spanish Football League. The Spanish newspaper "Marca" reported that Olmo's injury, who will be out of action for 4-5 weeks, was a heavy blow to the German coach, as he was deprived of a player who was performing excellently in these first matches and, on the other hand, because of the few names he has left in midfield. The newspaper added that Flick is considering some options during the match against Monaco in the Champions League, as Olmo's absence can be compensated for by placing Pedri in this position, although he has been playing in the double pivot line this season. It added that Flick could choose to leave Pedri playing in the double pivot and place Raphinha behind Robert Lewandowski in the 4-2-3-1 plan that he has been using this season, then Ferran Torre can play in the wing position because Ansu Fati's option seems premature. The newspaper indicated that the German coach could resort to changing the plan and playing in a 4-3-3 formation, then he could play with Casado as the sole pivot and with Pedri and Raphinha in the middle.
