Match cancelled in Berlin due to crowd trouble
A Berlin league match between Max Kruse's PSV Diersimspor and Delay Sports was called off on Sunday due to rioting. The 36-year-old former Germany striker came out of retirement in April after a career that saw him sacked by Wolfsburg and cost tens of thousands of euros in a taxi. "This is unacceptable. There is no place for this in football. We need to take a good look at ourselves," Kruse posted on Instagram, apologising on behalf of his team's fans who invaded the pitch. Delay Sports said its players were attacked by rival fans before police intervened. The situation had become tense after Delay Sports scored a 3-2 win in stoppage time after Kruse's late equaliser, prompting angry fans to celebrate with rival supporters.
