The Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RSB) took a serious option for qualifying for the group stage of the African Football Confederation Cup (CAF) by winning Saturday at Mustapha Ben Jannet stadium in Monastir (Tunisia), ahead of Ben Guerdane’s Sports Union (1-0), on behalf of the second preliminary round of the competition.
Youssef El Fahli scored the only goal of the match in the 9th, giving his teammates a short advantage before the return match, scheduled for next Sunday in Berkane.
RS Berkane need to draw or win any result in their return match that will be held at home to advance to the round of 32 overtime, while Ittihad Ben Guerdane must win away from home with two goals or more to advance to the next round.
