Al-Khelaifi praises the new Saint-Germain team
Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has spoken about his team's progress following the summer transfer of star player Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid. Al-Khelaifi, who attended a padel tournament in Madrid, told Marca that he was proud of the transformation the team has undergone since Mbappé's departure. "Paris Saint-Germain is no longer a one-star team. We now have a group of stars who shine brightly. I am very proud of the fantastic transformation we have seen over the past year, which is based on youth, talent and, above all, teamwork," he said. He said the transformation was the foundation of the club's next phase of development, with a focus on off-field efforts as well, such as the new training centre. "We are in an unprecedentedly positive state of mind. Luis Enrique and our sporting director Luis Campos have done an excellent job. They have told me that there is a positive spirit within the team in training that I have never seen before," he said of the new Champions League format. "As always, we have a tough draw, but we love big games and it will be a spectacular spectacle for our fans."
