Rashid Al-Khater: "Our goal is to speed up fan entry to Al-Thumama on Amir Cup final"
The local organizing committee for the final of the football competition of His Highness the Emir held a press conference yesterday to discuss developments related to the final of the tournament, which will bring Al-Sadd with Al-Rayyan on the 22nd of this month at Al-Thumama Stadium, one of the World Cup stadiums that will host the 2022 World Cup.
At the beginning, Rashid al-Khater, Director of Operations, Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the Amir Cup 2021 final, said, “The final match will take place on October 22, and it will coincide with the inauguration of Al- Thumama Stadium, one of the 2022 World Cup stadiums.”
At the headquarters of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) he explained saying that: “Our goal is to facilitate the process of entering to the stadium on the day of the match, and there will be road-closures in coordination with the Traffic Department.
He went on to say: "The stadium is designated for parking for all groups, including hospitality, and the fans' gates will open four hours before the match. We advise fans to reach the stadium at least three hours before the match."
"We have public transportation that everyone can use, including the metro, and the bus service will be effective 4 hours before kick-off and will last an hour and a half after the final," he said.
Al-Khater added, “Zones for loading and unloading fans will be close to the stadium, and there are parking spaces near the stadium as well for private cars, and the walking distance will be great with the distinctive view of the stadium. We encourage an early start to the stadium, and also enjoy the activities that will be present."
He continued his speech, saying, "Attending via taxis is also one of the services available and we advise booking early," noting that there will be places designated for the disembarkation of taxi passengers, and that there will be places designated for families and individuals.
Regarding the mass attendance in light of the procedures followed the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, he said, “This is the first final of the Amir Cup with the 40,000-seater Al-Thumama Stadium will operate at 100% occupancy to host the two clubs, having huge fan base. COVID-19 protocols will be followed. ”
He added, “There will be two categories of fans: the first will be those who received all recommended doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, as well as those who received the second dose 14 days before the final, and they will be allowed to enter the stadium for those who have been vaccinated and recovered without any examination, as Ehteraz mobile app will be shown when they enter with the presence of the golden frame, and the That is when taking the ticket and also when entering the facility.”
“Fans under age 12 are required to take a rapid COVID-19 test in a certified medical centre within 24 hours of the match kick-off time. Proof of a negative test result will then need to be shown at the stadium gate on matchday.," he added.
He pointed out that the Fan ID smart technology identification card will be issued in two ways, the first: by applying through the Qatar Ticket Association website, where a seat is reserved and the ticket voucher is purchased, and then it will be transferred to a link through which the fan card is registered, and then an email will be sent to the owner The request takes him to the Qatar Convention Center and there he gets the fan’s card and from there to the stadium, stressing that the operation began the day before yesterday and will remain open until the day of the match, stressing the need for the fan to bring the passport or the Qatari card to receive the fan’s card.
