Napoli player robbed after Parma clash

Brazilian player David Neres, a player for Napoli, was robbed at gunpoint while returning home after beating Parma on Saturday evening, 2-1, in the third round of the Italian League. Neres had participated as a substitute in Napoli's victory over Parma, 2-1, and succeeded in creating the winning goal for his team from a perfect cross, which Anguissa met with a header into the Parma net. The "Goal" website reported that the robbery took place in the Fuorigrotta area, when two armed men smashed the windows of the truck in which Neres and his wife were about to arrive at the hotel where they are currently staying. It indicated that the robbers threatened the player with a gun, and ordered him to hand over the watch before fleeing on a motorbike. Neres was then taken to the hotel, where he joined some of his friends, including McTominay and Gilmour, who had just arrived in the city. The theft was confirmed on social media by Neres' wife, Kira Winona, who said: "David would like to apologise to the fans who were waiting for him outside. As he was trying to leave the stadium after the game, two men on motorbikes destroyed his car and robbed him at gunpoint."
