Saudi Roshn League in the list of the 10 most expensive leagues in the world

The league competitions will start with a total of 34 stages, where it will open with a match between Al-Taawoun and Al-Fayha. The Saudi Professional League ranks tenth in the world with a market value of 1 billion and 50 million euros, becoming the only Arab and Gulf league whose market value exceeds one billion dollars/euro. The league witnessed an annual increase in market value of 213%, compared to levels of 335 million and 90 thousand euros in August 2022. The Saudi League is the second highest spending league in the world in 2023 and 2024, after the English Premier League, surpassing major European leagues such as the Italian, French, German, and Spanish leagues. In terms of clubs, the Saudi Al-Hilal Club tops the list of clubs with the highest spending this season, as it invested 353 million and 100 thousand euros, attracting big players such as the Brazilian Neymar in a deal worth 90 million euros, and the Moroccan goalkeeper Yassin Bounou in a deal worth 21 million euros. All Saudi clubs have seen their market value increase compared to last year, except for Al-Wehda, which is the least valuable with 12 million and 380 thousand euros. The Saudi league currently includes 149 foreign players, representing 28%, with an average age of 27.7 years, and Neymar is the most valuable among them with 60 million euros. The Saudi Federation has decided to reduce the list of players in each team from 30 to 25 players, with the aim of improving the quality of play and reducing the number of players not participating in matches. Al-Hilal, the title holder, ranks first in market value among Saudi clubs with 205 million euros, followed by Al-Ittihad Jeddah with 154 million euros, and Al-Nasr in third place with 144 million euros.
