Records in Haaland's career with City

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland played his 100th match for the Citizens against Chelsea, in a match in which the Norwegian star scored a goal in a 2-0 win on Sunday evening, in the first round of the 2024-2025 English Premier League. Haaland has an amazing career and historical records that he has set during his 100 matches with the English Premier League title holder, in all competitions since joining it in the summer of 2022. Haaland scored a whopping 52 goals in 53 matches in the 2022/23 season, which is the most goals scored by a player in the English Premier League in a single season in all competitions. With 36 goals, the Norwegian broke the record shared by the duo Alan Shearer and Andy Cole, which is 34 goals each, as the most goals scored in a single season in the Premier League. Haaland is also the first player in Premier League history to score hat-tricks in three consecutive home games and the first player in Premier League history to score in each of his first four away games. His 22 home goals also set a record for the most goals scored at the Etihad Stadium in a single season, while his 12 Champions League goals are the most by a City player in a single campaign in the competition. In his second season, despite missing almost two months of action through injury, Haaland scored 38 goals in 45 games in the 2023/24 campaign. In November, when Haaland scored in a 1-1 draw with Liverpool, the Norway international broke another Premier League record, becoming the fastest player in the competition’s history to score 50 goals. It took him just 48 games to reach the milestone, 17 games less than Andy Cole’s fastest 65 games. The 24-year-old also became the fastest and youngest player ever to score 40 Champions League goals as he moved into the competition's top 20 all-time scorers. Haaland scored five goals in a single game for the second time in his City career in 2023/24, in the FA Cup win over Luton Town.
