American businessman interested in buying Everton
American businessman John Textor, the co-owner of Crystal Palace, has revealed in an interview with the Daily Mirror that he is interested in buying a majority stake in English club Everton. Textor, who also owns Olympique Lyonnais in France, Botafogo in Brazil and Molenbeek in Belgium through his company Eagle Football Group, has admitted that he would need to sell his 45% stake in Crystal Palace before making a bid for Everton. Textor said: “We are looking at Everton like everyone else and I have to determine where my stake in Crystal Palace is before I can complete any deal.” In May, he confirmed plans to sell his stake in the south London club.
