Officially.. Di Maria continues his career with Benfica

Argentine veteran Angel Di Maria has renewed his contract with his club Benfica until 2025, to continue his career with the team, which he returned to in the summer of 2023, after his contract with his former club Juventus ended. Di Maria told his club's official website: "I am happy to spend another year with the team," which finished last season in second place behind Sporting CP, and to have the opportunity to win titles that year. He was unable to get them. Regarding the praise his teammates gave him, he said he was happy, "It is a very beautiful thing," although he explained that he is a "normal boy" who always tries to win. He added that he usually tries to support his teammates and help them. He warned that he starts the season "hungry" for more titles, saying: "From the beginning until today, all I have always wanted is titles." The former Real Madrid player arrived at Benfica in July 2023 from Juventus, although he had already been at the Portuguese club for three seasons. In this second stage at Benfica, continuity was a vital issue, especially after the threats to his family in his hometown of Rosario.
