Real Madrid target Inter Milan defender
Real Madrid are seeking to strengthen their defense this summer, especially in light of the continued absence of Austrian David Alaba due to his recovery from a cruciate ligament injury, in addition to the departure of captain Nacho Fernandez to the Saudi club Al-Qadisiyah, after the end of his contract with the club this summer.
The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Alessandro Bastoni, the star defender of the Italian club Inter Milan, is one of the options on Real Madrid's list of interests, to strengthen the team's defensive aspects during the current summer Mercato.
The newspaper revealed that the royal club had already tried to sign the Italian defender, who recently participated with his country's national team in the Euro 2024 Championship in Germany, during the last summer Mercato, and expressed its willingness to pay between 30 and 40 million euros to include the player, but the offer was rejected by the Nerazzurri management, who set an amount of 80 million euros in the event of giving up his services.
Tulio Nenti, the agent of Inter Milan defender, confirmed a few days ago to Sky Sports that many big European clubs have expressed interest in signing Bastoni, such as Manchester City and Real Madrid, but Inter Milan refuse to let go of its stars because it wants to win titles.
Real Madrid had tried to acquire the Italian giant's defender last summer, upon the recommendation of coach Carlo Ancelotti, in order to strengthen the team's defensive lines, but Inter Milan insisted on keeping its defender, who is one of the main elements in coach Simone Inzaghi's squad.
Bastoni, 25, is linked to Inter Milan, the Italian league champion in its last season, with a contract that extends until 2028, after he renewed his contract last summer.
