Sir Alex Ferguson appeared to criticise Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's decision to limit Cristiano Ronaldo to a substitute role this past weekend, with the club legend revealing his perspective in a conversation with mixed martial arts superstar Khabib Nurmagomedov that has surfaced on social media. Ferguson's remarks were captured in a filmed post-match chat between him and UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov - a friend of Ronaldo - in the Old Trafford directors' lounge.
Legendary former United boss Ferguson questioned the wisdom of Solskjaer's decision to start with Ronaldo on the bench by saying “you should always start with your best players”.
The British newspaper, “Mirror”, quoted the legendary Manchester United coach’s comment, Sir Alex Ferguson, on the Portuguese star sitting on the bench against Everton.
The Red Devils failed to win against Everton in the last round of the Premier League, after the match ended in a positive tie, one goal for the same. The English newspaper published a video clip of Sir Alex Ferguson's comment on Ronaldo's absence from the starting lineup against Everton.
Ferguson was accompanied by Habib Mahmmadov, the martial arts legend, in the video about Ronaldo's presence on the bench... Ferguson commented, "You always have to start with your best players," referring to Solskjaer who had to start the match with Ronaldo from the beginning.
