Corruption Allegations Haunt Juventus Officials

Italian press reports have revealed the involvement of several former Juventus officials in financial corruption cases during their tenure at the Italian club. According to the Football Italia website, prosecutors in Rome have requested that former Juventus president Andrea Agnelli and other former club directors stand trial over allegations of financial irregularities during their tenure. The website added that Agnelli and the other defendants, including former vice-chairman and Ballon d'Or winner Pavel Nedved, will face various charges including manipulation and issuing fake invoices. The website indicated that Juventus club stated that its lawyers informed it of the charges brought by the Rome prosecutor's office against Agnelli and the former directors. It is noteworthy that Juventus was deducted 10 points from its Serie A balance in May 2023 after a ruling by the Italian Football Court in a case focused on the club's dealings in the transfer market.
