Araujo Adds To Barcelona's Suffering
Uruguay defender Ronaldo Araujo has dealt Barcelona a new shock after sustaining an injury during their match against Brazil early Sunday in the quarter-finals of the 2024 Copa America, currently being held in the United States. Araujo's injury comes hours after his teammate Pedri suffered a serious injury with the Spanish national team during their match against Germany in the quarter-finals of the European Nations Cup "Euro 2024", currently being held in Germany. The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" said that Araujo suffered a muscle injury in his right leg, which forced him to leave the Uruguay-Brazil match, crying after 30 minutes of the match. The newspaper reported that the Uruguayan national team defender left the field crying and was replaced by Jose Maria Gimenez. The Barcelona center-back has a long history of muscle injuries (he has had eight since his debut with Barcelona in 2019), and while waiting to know the player's final diagnosis and whether there is a tear, the first sensations presented by the player seem very worrying and could keep him out of the pre-season with Hansi Flick's team.
