Kroos Announces His Retirement From Football

Spanish club Real Madrid confirmed that its German star, Toni Kroos, has decided to end his football career after the European Nations Cup, “Euro 2024”, which will be held in Germany this summer .

Real Madrid's statement said: "We announce that Toni Kroos has decided to end his career as a player after the 2024 European Championship."

He added: "We want to express our gratitude and love to Toni Kroos, a player who has already become part of Real Madrid's history and one of the great legends of our club and world football ."

He continued: “Toni Kroos arrived at our club in 2014, and was a key player in one of the most successful periods in Real Madrid’s 122-year history. During the ten seasons that he defended our shirt, he won 22 titles in 463 matches so far: 4 European Cups, 5 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, 4 Leagues, 1 King's Cup and 4 Spanish Super Cups .

He continued: “In addition to his titles with Real Madrid, Kroos became a world champion with the German national team in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. With Bayern Munich, he won the European Cup (1), the Club World Cup (1), the European Super Cup (1), and the German League. (3), German Cups (3), and German Super Cup (2).

He continued: “On the individual level, Toni Kroos was included in the FIFA squad three times, and he was chosen as the best playmaker in 2014 by the International Federation of History and Statistics, and he won the Golden Ball as the best player in the 2007 U-17 World Cup in Korea .”
