Barcelona Is Out Of The Club World Cup
Barcelona, Spain, lost its chances of being present in the Club World Cup, with its new system, the first edition of which will be hosted by the United States of America in the summer of 2025, with the presence of 32 teams, after the farewell of the European Champions League, at the hands of French club Paris Saint-Germain. Barcelona suffered a major loss against Paris Saint-Germain, by four goals to one, yesterday evening, Tuesday, in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, after achieving a 3-2 first-leg victory in Paris, last Wednesday. Thus, Atletico Madrid qualifies for the tournament despite being eliminated by German club Borussia Dortmund, but it is ahead of Barcelona by 6 points in the UEFA classification, making it the second Spanish team to qualify alongside Real Madrid. Currently, there is only one place available in the European Football Association, which is between the English duo Arsenal or the Austrian Salzburg, and if the London team does not win the Champions League this season, the qualification ticket will go to the Austrian team. The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) had announced that it would grant the honor of organizing the 2025 Club World Cup to the United States of America, with the tournament being held between June 15, 2025 and July 13 of the same year.
