Florian Wirtz surprised the French team with a shot from a long distance, after a perfect pass from Kroos. This goal was a few milliseconds faster than the one scored by Lukas Podolski against Ecuador in 2013, and was the fastest for Germany until the match. Deschamps expressed disappointment, in his 150th match as coach of France. He said: “We were not present, that is clear. The Germans played a high-level match.
