Neuer Equals Casillas' Achievement In The Champions League

Manuel Neuer, Bayern Munich's German goalkeeper, succeeded in keeping a clean sheet during the great victory over Italian Lazio, with a clean score, in the second leg of the Champions League final. Bayern Munich qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, with a score of 3-1, on aggregate, after losing the first leg, by a clean goal. Opta reported that Manuel Neuer equaled Iker Casillas' record for the most clean sheets in the history of the Champions League, with 57 clean sheets. The Bavarian team captain achieved Casillas' achievement in a smaller number of matches, as Neuer achieved this achievement in 136 matches, compared to 177 matches for the Spanish goalkeeper.
