QFA accepts a request to host Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia for their friendly and official matches in Doha
The Football Association has approved an official request of its counterpart, the Saudi Federation, to host Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia in Qatar when they face Iran's Tractor football team which will play Al Nassr in Qatar in Round of 16 of the 2021 AFC Champions League. The match will be held on September 14.The match was originally scheduled to be held at the Mrsool Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Sept. 14 but the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced that the match should be played in a neutral venue. According to the media reports, Al Nassr has chosen Qatar as the third country for the match. This hosting event comes within the framework of what links QFA with distinguished bilateral relations with brothers in various federations, especially after the great success with hosting and organizing many major tournaments in the past period in light of the challenges posed by facing the Covid-19 pandemic. Qatar deserved everyone's appreciation with held amid strict health and safety protocols during the competitions of the AFC Champions League, the Emir's Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2020™️ in its last two editions, in addition to Total African Super Cup 2020, which was held recently. Qatar Football Association also agreed to the request of his Iraqi Football Association to host Iraq's joint qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup. The Iraqi team will play against South Korea, Syria, Iran, the UAE and Lebanon.
Iraq national football team will face their Iranian counterparts at the Al-Wakrah Stadium in Doha on September 7 in Group A. QFA also announced the hosting of two camps for the Algerian Football Association confirmed that the local team will meet the Syrian team in a friendly next Thursday in the Qatari capital, Doha, in preparation for its participation in the 2021 Arab Cup.
The Syrian team's camp comes in preparation for facing Iran in the opening matches of the first Asian group in the decisive qualifying round. The two national team’s preparation teams in Doha, as part of their preparations for the upcoming competitions, represented in the Asian and African qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™️.
The Algerian team began its preparatory camp on August 22, will continue until the first of next September. The Algerian and Syrian national teams will play two friendly matches on August 26 and 29, while the Syrian team will participate in its camp from August 21 to 29.
