The 25 Gulf Cup delegation inspects the stadiums and hotels in Basra

The inspection team emanating from the committee of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation began an inspection visit to the Iraqi city of Basra, aiming to follow up on the city's readiness to host the "Gulf 25 Cup". The inspection delegation headed by Dr. Hammoud Al-Shaibani, Chairman of the Committee, and Jassim Al-Rumaihi, Secretary-General, Vice-Chairman of the Committee.
The three-day visit of the special Gulf delegation for the Gulf Cup 25 inspection includes inspecting Basra International Stadium, as well as the port stadium, visiting sports facilities, and checking their readiness, as well as inspecting hotels designated for teams and delegations, health and medical centers, and the rest of the service annexes that fall within the hosting standards.
The decision of the International Football Association(FIFA) not to allow matches to be held at the present time at the Basra International Stadium raises Iraqis’ fears about the fate of hosting the Gulf Championship, which was hosted by Iraq once previously in 1979.
