Former German star Mesut Ozil, of the Spanish team Atletico Madrid, mocked after press reports that talked about the imminent application of the blue card in matches, after football legislators approved its use.

Ozil wrote, through his personal account on the “ X ” platform, saying: “Atletico Madrid will play with only 6 players.”

The British newspaper "The Telegraph" had confirmed that football legislators at the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) Council had agreed to implement the blue card decision during football matches.

She indicated that the blue card will be used to force the player to leave the field for 10 minutes, if he commits a mistake that prevents an attack considered dangerous or if he strongly protests the referee.

The newspaper added that if the same player receives two blue cards, this means he will be permanently expelled from the match.

The newspaper confirmed that the first phase of testing is expected to be conducted, perhaps in the FA Cup, as it will not initially be used in major competitions.
