Nigeria Is The First To Qualify For The Africa Round

The Nigerian national team qualified for the semi-finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, currently being held in Côte d'Ivoire, after defeating its Angola counterpart, with a clean goal, in the match that brought them together on Friday evening, at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny, in the quarter-final competitions. Ademola Lookman, a player for the Italian team Atalanta, scored Nigeria's winning goal in the 41st minute of the match, with a powerful shot after following a pass from his teammate Moses Simon. VAR canceled another goal for the Green Eagles, in the 75th minute of the match, scored by Victor Osimhen, due to offside. The Nigerian national team will face in the semi-finals, with the winner of the Cape Verde match against South Africa in the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations. Another match will be held today, Friday, in the quarter-finals of the African Nations 2023, which will bring together the Democratic Republic of Congo and Guinea.
