To Welcome Messi... Al-Sheikh Inaugurates Al Hilal Stadium
Counselor Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority, unveiled the completion of the implementation of the “Kingdom Arena” stadium in the capital, Riyadh. The first official appearance of the new stadium will be when the Saudi Al-Hilal team hosts its American counterpart, Inter Miami, led by Argentine world champion Lionel Messi, in the opening match of the 2024 Riyadh Season Cup, which includes, in addition to Al-Hilal and Inter Miami, the Saudi Al-Nasr club. The stadium of Al Hilal Saudi Club will also be on a date with the confrontation between Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo when the Al-Nasr and Inter Miami teams meet in the second match of the tournament on February 1, while the Al-Hilal and Al-Nasr match will be the third confrontation that the stadium will witness on the 8th of the same month. The stadium, which includes the latest technologies, can accommodate 26,000 spectators, and is scheduled to reach about 30,000 during the coming period, while the main hall includes about 350 seats and is distinguished by the proximity of its stands to the field. The stadium will be fully air-conditioned, contain a removable roof and huge display screens, and it is considered one of the most prominent sports destinations that were announced as part of the surprises of the Riyadh Season. The stadium is distinguished by its large dimensions, with a length of 105 meters, a width of 68 meters, and a height of 47 metres. The lighting in the stadium will be the highest in all stadiums in the Middle East, as the intensity of brightness will reach 3000 Lux. Artificial alternative sunlight technology devices were also imported from the Netherlands to maintain the stadium’s cultivation with modern irrigation systems, making it one of the first stadiums in the region to use such modern methods.
