The English coach, the former Liverpool star, took over the leadership of Al-Ittifaq last July. But the Saudi team did not achieve any victory in the last 8 matches and occupies eighth place in the league table after achieving 6 victories in 19 matches. Amid this decline, Steven Gerrard is about to lose English international midfielder Jordan Henderson, who is close to joining the Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam only six months after joining the ranks of Al-Ettifaq. Gerrard's assistant coach, Ian Foster, also left this month to take over as technical director of the English club, Plymouth.
