Haaland's Acquittal In The "Reprimand" Incident

Despite English reports, issued on Monday, regarding the English Federation’s consideration of imposing a suspension penalty on Norwegian star Erling Haaland, the Manchester City striker, the news issued on Tuesday was the opposite. The English newspaper "Daily Star" confirmed that he was threatened with suspension by the English Football Association on charges of misconduct, due to his anger at referee Simon Hooper, who officiated the match between Manchester City and Tottenham, in the 14th round of the English Premier League. Haaland was upset by the referee's decision to deprive his team, Manchester City, of a dangerous attack by stopping play to count a violation, and not implementing the opportunity, in the match that ended in a positive 3-3 draw. According to the newspaper, the English Federation considered that Haaland reacted inappropriately to the referee, noting that the incident is under investigation. In the same regard, the Spanish newspaper “El Mundo Deportivo” said that the English Federation decided, after the incident was investigated, that Haaland’s behavior did not deserve to be indicted, noting that the Federation had contented itself with a general accusation against Manchester City of violating the Premier League rule, which means that Haaland He will not be subject to suspension, because there is no direct accusation against him. It is noteworthy that Manchester City currently occupies third place in the English Premier League table, with 30 points, 3 points behind leaders Arsenal, and one point behind runner-up Liverpool.
