Felix Sanchez: " We played a great match , the team redeem themselves, resisted fatigue and fight back”

Felix Sanchez, Qatar National Football Team coach expressed his happiness for winning and qualifying for the semi-finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
“First of all, I congratulate the players on this achievement for reaching the semifinals of the Gold Cup in which they are participating for the first time,” Sanchez said at the post-match press conference.
“This is a competition that is never easy for any team. With a fighting performance like this, that’s why we deserve to be in the semifinals,” Sanchez said.
He added: “We played a good match in which we dominated for 60 minutes where we were the best in all parts of the pitch and scored three goals – including two goals in the first 10 minutes or so.
He added: We played a good match in which we dominated the match for 60 minutes, where we were the best in all lines and scored 3 goals, two goals in the first half and the third directly at the beginning of the second half, and then the opponent led attacks on our goal intensively, in which he managed to score two goals. Resistance and this is what made the match difficult, and here I want to clarify a point related to the number of rest days that we benefited from, which is only three, unlike our opponent, who was on rest for 4 days, so the three days between our last match against Honduras and facing El Salvador are very few since we are at the end of the season, The players are tired and despite that we played a great match and everyone resisted this fatigue.
Sanchez talked about the level of the team in the El Salvador match: The team played a good match and the players showed a distinguished performance, where we scored three goals, and the opponent tried to come back in the match by scoring two goals and they had a desire to adjust the result, but we were able to resolve the qualifying ticket in our favor, and we will learn what happened after our progress With a clean three and we will focus on some points during the next match.
“We will learn what happened after our progress at this event. We will improve our performance by focusing on some points,” he said.
When asked about whether he expected to reach the semifinals of an event Qatar got an invite for, Sanchez said: “Our presence in this tournament is no different from our participation in other tournaments in which we always try to compete as well. We participated with 15 teams and appeared at an extraordinary level, and we are now in the semifinals.”
He continued: “We have played the championship since the first round to be competitive without considering that we are participating for the first time in the Gold Cup.”
He added: “We knew our opponent well after we played a friendly match before the start of the tournament. As expected, they also had an idea of our performance and tactics. Our competitor is a team that plays with a high spirit and a strong personality. Even after we scored three goals, they did not give up but tried to fight back, so I am happy that we beat a team with such strength.”
