The incident occurred during Tottenham's 1-0 victory over its guest Crystal Palace last May.

He added: “The club assisted the Metropolitan Police in collecting evidence against the fan, who was arrested and charged with committing a racist public order offence.”

The fan pleaded guilty to the offense and was given 60 hours' work and unpaid costs - however, the club has raised concerns with the Metropolitan Police and the UK Football Policing Unit about the leniency of this sentence.
