World Cup winner Lahm supports German bid to win Euro 2024

Philipp Lahm, Director of the European Nations Cup tournament (UEFA EURO 2024), expressed his confidence and belief that the German national team could achieve good results in the tournament being held in Germany. Lahm, who won the 2014 World Cup, told Sky: “There is enough time to turn the tide and achieve positive results.” Lahm considers Julian Nagelsmann's start as coach of the German national team a successful one after he achieved a victory over the American national team and a draw with his Mexican counterpart respectively. Nagelsmann took over as coach of the German national team, succeeding Hansi Flick last September. "Julian is exciting," Lahm added. "This is very important." The former German national team captain confirmed that he is happy with the return of Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to the stadium after an absence of more than 10 months due to injury. Lahm said: “If he performs well and returns to his high level, then he will certainly have the opportunity to mainly guard the goal of the German national team.” Note that in Neuer's absence, Marc-Andre ter Stegen was the main goalkeeper for the German national team.
