Haaland wins Gerd Muller Trophy at the Ballon d'Or ceremony
Norwegian and Manchester City's top striker, Erling Haaland, offers advice to aspiring footballers as he collects the Gerd Muller Trophy at the Ballon d'Or ceremony scorer in the world during held by the French magazine "France Football" for the best in the world awards for the year 2023. Haaland’s total of 52 goals in a season was the most in all competitions by a player at a Premier League club and the most by any City player in our illustrious 129-year history. The 23-year-old also set a new Premier League record by registering 36 goals, claiming six hat-tricks along the way, while he was also the top scorer in the Champions League, scoring 12 goals as City won the prized European trophy for the first time. The Polish Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona's top scorer, won the first two editions of the award in 2021 and 2022.
