French football coach René passed away at 75

Renowned French football coach René Express, known for his tenure with Bastia and Al-Nasr Club, has passed away at 75. René was born in the French city of Arles in 1947 and began his football career at Arles-Avignon Club before retiring in 1984 and devoting himself full-time to his coaching career. He was particularly famous when he coached the French team Bastia from 1991 to 1993, and this period witnessed the "Foriani Stadium disaster" in which 18 people were killed and more than 2,300 fans were injured due to the collapse of a stand from the Furiani Stadium, Bastia's stronghold, before the French Cup semi-final match against Olympique Marseille, in May 5, 1992.
