Roberto joins Barça's injury, likely to miss the clásico!

Spanish club Barcelona announced that team captain Sergi Roberto suffered a muscle injury, without specifying the duration of his absence from the field. There are now eight injured players at FC Barcelona. Sergi Roberto went down this Wednesday in the first team's joint training session with Barça Atlètic. The club has now issued a medical statement regarding the player's injury.  "The first team player Sergi Roberto has an injury in the soleus of his right leg (calf). He is out of action and his evolution will mark his availability," Barcelona said in the statement. We will see the full extent of the injury, but he is ruled out of Sunday's game against Athletic at Montjuïc and he is unlikely to be back for the Real Madrid game on Oct. 2.  With the plague of injuries affecting the club, Roberto had a chance to play from the start or against Athletic or against Shakhtar next Wednesday in the Champions League. It is another setback for Xavi, who sees his players dropping like 'flies'.
