However, fellow center-back Matthijs de Ligt has taken another step on the road to recovery: the Dutchman, who's been battling a knee problem recently, began running on the pitch again on Tuesday. Upamecano had left the French national team camp due to injury. Bayern's statement said: "X-rays revealed that Dayot Upamecano suffered a muscle injury in the left hamstring during Bayern Munich's match in the German League against Freiburg on Sunday, which kept him out of the field at the present time." Bayern Munich occupies third place in the German League standings, with 17 points, and leads Bayer Leverkusen, with 19 points.
