Messi's Injury in Miami Raises Concerns for Argentine

Argentine star Lionel Messi was knocked out of Inter Miami's clash with Toronto FC as the Argentine suffered an apparent injury after only recently returning. Inter Miami won 4-0 on Thursday dawn in the current edition of the American League. Messi lasted just 37 minutes in Miami's 4-0 win over Toronto FC before removing his captain's armband and walking towards the sidelines to be replaced by Robert Taylor. Messi had only just returned to the XI, having missed the last two weeks due to international duty and an injury suffered against Ecuador. Messi's injury could very well derail Miami's season, as the club has a U.S. Open Cup final against FC Cincinnati coming up on September 27. The Herons are also pushing for an unlikely playoff spot, and any significant Messi absence would almost certainly doom them this season. Messi's injury came against Toronto, after he missed the last match with Argentina during the last international break, and also against Atlanta United due to posterior muscle pain. Inter Miami coach Tata Martino spoke before the match between Messi and Jordi Alba, saying, “Both players will train in full training with the team and after that, we will see if they are available to play,” stressing that the team has 6 matches in 18 days, and as a coach it will be He has tough decisions.
