Barcelona free up Umtiti and Pjanic to help keep Messi

Mundo Deportivo , the oldest sports newspaper  in Spain, quoting a high-ranking Barcelona official, confirmed that the club has offered them the chance to leave for free to help them balance the books with a Serie A return possible for Pjanic in the current summer transfer period. FC Barcelona is offering them the chance to join another club without the need for a transfer fee, and all because of their desire to keep Lionel Messi.
Mundo Deportivo affirmed that Barcelona is seeking to dispense with the services of some players in the current period, and is also working to reduce the players' salaries. The Catalan administration recently dispensed with Claire Todibo and Conrad de la Fuente.
Reports indicated that both Miralem Pjanic and Samuel Umtiti are on the fewer cusps of interests of the Dutch coach Ronald Koeman for the new season.
Barcelona pair Samuel Umtiti and Miralem Pjanic have contract of great financial value. If both continue in Barcelona, it delays determining the contract of veteran Lionel Messi.
The newspaper also assured that Umtiti's exit from the team for free did not expose the team to any loss, knowing that the player is committed to continuing, and seeks to win Coman's confidence.
Pjanic, 31, joined from Juventus last summer in a deal worth €60 million but started only six of the 13 Liga games in which he featured last season. his free departure costs the team a great loss, but the club’s management will provide his salary in the coming years.
Umtiti meanwhile has not been able to hold on to a place in the starting XI since arriving from Lyon five years ago and was also limited to just 13 league matches in 2020-21.
Pjanic did not refuse to leave Barca, but he wants to wait for the current summer transfer period, especially since the player is in the interests of Juventus, Inter and Paris Saint-Germain.
