Richarlison seeking psychological help to treat scoring dilemmas
Tottenham and Brazilian national team striker, Richarlison, will "seek psychological help" after breaking down in tears during Brazil's 5-1 victory against Bolivia on Saturday. Richarlison revealed that he will seek "psychological help" upon his return to Tottenham, as the striker seeks to overcome a "turbulent" period he is currently experiencing, represented by a goal drought. The Tottenham forward, 26, failed to hide his emotions after being substituted in the 71st minute of the World Cup qualifier at the Mangueirao. He failed to score during Brazil's convincing win and is enduring one of the toughest droughts of his career. Richarlison hasn't scored for his country since the World Cup in Qatar, while he's found the net just once in 31 Premier League appearances for Tottenham. The former Watford star joined Spurs from Everton in a £60million deal in July 2022. "I’m going to go back to England, to seek psychological help, from a psychologist, to work on my mind," Richarlison told Brazilian outlet Globo. "That’s it. Come back stronger. I believe I will be in the next (Brazil) squad, I will work for that. It’s about getting a good streak at Tottenham, this week I’m going to sit down and talk to them, I need a good streak, get the rhythm of the game." Richarlison also admitted that he's been through a "turbulent time in the last five months off the field" because of "people who only had an eye on my money and walked away from me". Yet he insists "things are right at home" and is confident of regaining his form. Richarlison has scored just four goals in 40 appearances for Tottenham since his £50m move from Everton in July 2022 and has not found the back of the net for Brazil since the 2022 World Cup.
