Juventus' defense sets a record in Europe

Following their recent 2-0 victory against Empoli, Opta has revealed that Juventus has set a new defensive record in Europe's top five major clubs in the five major European leagues during the current year. This accomplishment underscores their commitment to defensive excellence and their ability to maintain their reputation as one of the best defensive teams in European football. The statistics published by the global “Opta” network revealed that no team kept more clean sheets away from home in the five major European leagues during 2023 than Juventus (8 matches, equal with Lazio). Juventus beat Empoli with two goals without a response, during the match that brought the two teams together on Sunday evening, within the framework of the Italian League competitions.
Juventus has long been renowned for their strong defensive performances under the guidance of Max Allegri, and this reputation has been upheld since his return to the club. The Bianconeri are considered one of the top clubs in Italy and are poised to compete for and potentially win the Serie A title this season. Juventus takes great pride in their defensive solidity, and their manager prioritizes keeping a clean sheet over a high-scoring offense. Allegri has employed this defensive system for a significant period, and it proved successful during his initial tenure at the club, resulting in numerous trophies. Juventus comes in third place in the Italian League standings table with 7 points, two points behind Inter Milan and Milan, the leaders, respectively, with 9 points each.
