Official: Real Madrid confirms thigh injury to Vinicius, out for 6 weeks

Real Madrid has issued an official statement confirming that key superstar Vinicius Junior has sustained an injury to his right thigh. The Brazilian winger suffered an injury in Madrid’s last game and the club has now confirmed the results of the MRI scan. Real Madrid, through an official statement on their website, has confirmed that winger Vinicius Junior has suffered an injury to his right hamstring. The Brazilian went down in the recent game against Celta de Vigo in La Liga EA Sports, where the player was forced off in the first half, being replaced by Spanish striker, Joselu, after just 18 minutes.  "Following tests carried out on Vini. Jr by the Real Madrid Medical Services, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the right biceps femoris muscle," Madrid said in a statement on Monday. "His progress will be monitored." Real Madrid, who are top of the league, concluded their statement with a short line that says “his progress will be monitored” and no time is given as to when the winger may return to the field of play. Low-grade hamstring injuries usually take 1-2 weeks; as for Vini Jr, the signs are that he will take longer to recover and could be out for anything up to 6 weeks. The newspaper added that Vinicius will miss the following matches: Vinicius will probably miss 5 games for Real Madrid: Getafe (home), Real Sociedad (home), Atlético Madrid (away), Las Palmas (home) and Girona (away), besides he will miss the first Champions League match The Brazilian star, Vinicius Junior suffered a muscle injury, which caused him to be replaced, after the first 20 minutes of the meeting that took place on Friday at the “Balaidos” stadium in the third round of the Spanish League “La Liga” for the current season.
