Further punishments awaits Van Dyck after sent off against Newcastle

British press reports revealed on Monday that Dutch defender Virgil van Dyck is threatened with a long absence from appearing on pitches with the Reds in the English Premier League competition,  The British newspaper “Daily Mail” reported that Van Dyck will miss the next three matches in the English Premier League, but he may face a longer banishment penalty after attacking the referee and using obscene phrases against him. The newspaper added that the violation of the Dutch defender may require the intervention of the Disciplinary Committee of the English Football Association and the imposition of a greater penalty on Van Dyck. Van Dyck got a red card against Newcastle United, which the Reds won with two goals to one, in the match that took place on Sunday evening, at St. James Park, in the third round of the English Premier League for the current season 2023-2024.
