Official: David Raya joins Arsenal

Arsenal announced on Tuesday the transfer of goalkeeper David Raya, who joins the Gunners from rival London club, Brentford during the current summer transfer window. The Spaniard becomes Mikel Arteta's fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, and Declan Rice. The Gunners revealed that he had signed David Raya from Brentford on a season-long loan until 2024, without the option of a final purchase. The Spanish international goalkeeper will wear the number 22 shirt with the team this season. Raya moved to Brentford from Blackburn in the summer of 2019 and participated with the team in 161 various competitions, during which he succeeded in keeping his net, clean on 54 occasions. Raya will be a strong competitor to primary goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdell who started the season with the Gunners.
