A Colombian labor who worked in the restrooms at Inter Miami's DRV PNK Stadium has said that he was fortunate enough to get an autograph from Lionel Messi, albeit at the expense of his job.The signing of Lionel Messi to Inter Miami has caused a massive uproar across the MLS. Arguably the greatest footballer on the globe has rocketed David Beckham's football club to new extremes, and everyone has been chasing the former Barcelona legend to get a glimpse somehow. The Colombian guy named Cristian Salamanca was no different. He apparently was employed by a company that is contracted to clean the Herons' ground. His first duty was during Inter Miami's game against Orlando City in the League Cup. He was assigned to clean an area near where the two teams were expected to gather before kickoff at the Fort Lauderdale arena. Salamanca however sensed it as an opportunity to meet the former PSG star and came prepared for it, wearing a Argentine jersey beneath his uniform. He successfully managed to get the chance to meet Messi and receive an autograph; however, after it came to light he was sacked on the spot. As per the rules, employees working at the DRV PNK Stadium are not allowed to bother Messi and other superstars, and having to get in touch with him violates the law which resulted in him getting the sack.
It is surely an unfortunate incident for the young worker. However, following the incident, he now stated that he is cherishing the lucky moment rather than being remorseful.
