Venezuela drew 2-2 with Ecuador for the third round of Copa América


Venezuela tied with Ecuador with two goals from both sides in the third round of Group B matches hosted at Nilton Santos Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Ayrton Preciado opened the scoring for Ecuador at minute 39 after a nice ball assist from his compatriot Robert Arboleda, but Venezuela managed in the second half to adjust the score through Edson Castillo bulleted home a header after 51 minutes to equalise on his first international start for Venezuela only for Ecuadorian substitute Gonzalo Plata to race the length of the field and give his side a 2-1 lead with 19 minutes remaining.Ecuador returned to the fore, with Goncalo Plata who scored the second goal for his country at the 71st minute. In the added time of the confrontation, Venezuela managed to equalize with a shot by Ronald Hernandez after a successful assist pass from Edson Castro before the Chilean referee Roberto Tobar Vargas blows the final whistle.
