Official: Liverpool's Captain Henderson Joins Saudi Al-Ettifaq

Known as "Knight of Dahna", Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq until 2026. The England midfielder, 33, has moved in a deal worth £12m plus add-ons.  Henderson had been at Liverpool since joining from Sunderland in a deal worth £20m in June 2011. He played 492 times for the Reds, scoring 33 goals and registering 57 assists, and won seven major trophies with the club. Jordan Henderson is considered a legendary leader in Liverpool, as he took over from English legend Stephen Gerrard, the current coach of the current Al-Ettifaq team. Henderson was born in June 1990. He started his football career in his hometown with English club Sunderland in 2008, then played for English club Coventry in 2009, before moving on his football trip to Liverpool and spreading his creativity on the Anfield stage during the 12 years, from the 2011 season to 2023. For his part, Vice President of Al-Ettifaq Club, Hatem Al-Mishal, expressed his happiness at signing officially with Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson to take over the leadership of Al-Ettifaq for a period of three years. Al-Mishal said, "There is no doubt that Henderson is a distinguished addition, as we completed the deal after the recommendation of sports director Elko Chatori and the technical staff led by English coach Stephen Gerrard, who accompanied him as a player and knows his capabilities and capabilities that the agreement needs during the next stage." He added: "By contracting with the captain of Liverpool to join his new colleagues, French striker Moussa Dembele and Scottish defender Jack Hendry, the work is based on a number of additions to support the ranks of Fares Al-Dahna." In a goodbye video a day earlier, Henderson had announced that he would be leaving the club after 12 years during which he won the Premier League and Champions League.
