English reports stated that Manchester City is working to bring back Juanma Lillo as one of Pep Guardiola’s assistant managers. Lillo is currently the manager of Qatari side Al Sadd, a role he has held since the summer of 2022 when he left Guardiola’s coaching staff.
Juanma has been coaching Al-Sadd since last year when he left the coaching staff of Guardiola, and he is still in his contract with Al-Sadd for another year with confirmation that he has a clause in his contract that must be activated in order for him to leave. Juanma is currently leading the team’s training after Al Sadd launched its training amidst a large administrative presence in preparation for the new season. The Al Sadawi team’s training is witnessing the presence of the most prominent stars of the team, led by: Hassan Al-Haidous, Saad Al-Dosari, Pedro Miguel, Ahmed Sayyar, Guilherme Torres, Khokhi Boualem, and many young players in the absence of some players with the first Qatari national team participating in the Golden Cup tournament. Al-Sadd training program will continue in Doha until the date of the external camp in Austria during the period from July 1 to 19 of the same month, which will include four friendly matches. The team is fully prepared to compete in King Salman Cup for Clubs (Arab Championship) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia next month.
