Man City agree deal to sign Kovacic from Chelsea

Press reports revealed that Manchester City has agreed with its counterpart Chelsea a £ 30 million deal with Chelsea sign midfielder Mateo Kovacic during the current summer Mercado. According to the “Daily Mail” newspaper, Manchester City had reached a final agreement, in order to sign the Croatian midfielder star Mateo Kovacic. The treble winners are set to pay an initial £25m for the 29-year-old Croatia international, with a further £5m to follow in potential add-ons. Kovacic, who joined Chelsea from Real Madrid in 2018, is entering the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge. The newspaper added that the Croatian star has been a target for City’s Boss Pep Guardiola since 2019, and believes he can play anywhere in his midfield. Kovacic will become City’s first signing of the summer and give manager Pep Guardiola more midfield options at a time when captain Ilkay Gundogan’s future is uncertain. The newspaper pointed out that Kovacic will add key power to the Manchester City midfield next season, in light of the uncertainty of the future of Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva.
