Official: Bellingham to take No. 5 shirt at Real Madrid

On Thursday, Real Madrid made a presentation ceremony before the media for Jude Bellingham as a new player. Bellingham, who completed his move to Madrid on Thursday, will follow in the footsteps of the club’s legendary former player and coach Zinédine Zidane. The Frenchman sported the number during a five-year Madrid playing spell that’s best remembered for his stunning winning goal in Los Blancos’ 2002 Champions League final win over Bayer Leverkusen. Bellingham will wear the same number as Zinedine Zidane as a "homage to how great he was" after being officially unveiled as the Meringues player, which is the number worn by young defender Jesus Vallejo, who will receive the number 24. Bellingham successfully passed the medical examination this morning at the club's clinic, before signing his joining contracts with Florentino Perez. The deal cost the club's coffers 103 million euros + 30 million euros in variables.
