Mbappe issues a new bombshell statement on his PSG future

Kylian Mbappe, the French star of Paris Saint-Germain, issued a statement about his future with the Parisian club, after reports that spoke of his intention not to stay after 2024. Kylian Mbappe has released an official statement on his Paris Saint-Germain future via the AFP. L'Equipe reported on Monday evening that Mbappe sent an official letter to his club informing them of his intention not to renew his contract which was extended last year but will expire in June 2024. In a statement sent to the French Agency AFP, Mbappe confirmed that he had informed the Paris Saint-Germain board of directors on July 15, 2022, of his decision not to extend beyond 2024, and the message sent was only intended to confirm what I had already told them. Mbappe claims PSG have known for almost a year that he had no intention of extending his deal at the club. “PSG has been informed since July 15, 2022, of my decision not to extend beyond 2024, and the letter that was sent only served to confirm what I had already told them,” he said. He further added: “Kylian Mbappe did not ask the club to sell him this summer, and he only assured the club that he would not extend the contract. The issue of extending the contract has not been discussed at all since July 15, 2022, even two weeks ago to announce the letter, and by the way, no new extension of the contract was discussed.” The French newspaper “Le Parisien” reported that Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid was imminent this summer, PSG abandoning the idea of sticking to keeping the player until the end of his contract.
