Nasser Al-Khulaifi praises the African football achievements
Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of the European Professional Clubs Association and Paris Saint-Germain president, praised the development of African football, after attending the second leg of the African Champions League final, which brought together the Egyptian Al-Ahly club and Wydad Athletic Club, in the Moroccan city of Casablanca. Nasser Al-Khulaifi’s statements in an interview with “beIN SPORTS” on the sidelines of the second leg of the CAF Champions League final, where he said: “I thank my brother, the president of the Moroccan Federation, for the generous lawsuit. It's a big derby, and I'm very proud (to attend) here...a beautiful country and I thank them for their hospitality." Regarding his opinion of the presence of Arab clubs in the final of an African continent, he said: "This derby is very big, and its level is at the level of European club matches, but you need more support, and we are here to talk about how we can cooperate with African clubs." He concluded his remarks by saying: "Football is not only about scoring goals and getting cups and prizes. Football is also about humanity and how we help each other, and help all societies all over the world, and of course, the continent of Africa, which is one of the largest continents in football." Wydad Casablanca is obliged to win this return match, at home, after its defeat in the first leg by 2-1, at the Cairo International Stadium.
