A record purchase by Benfica for the Turkish international Kokcho 

Benfica signed Turkish international midfielder Orkun Kokçu for a club record amounting to 25 million euros from Dutch Feyenoord, according to what the Portuguese soccer champions announced. Turkey midfielder Orkun Kokcu has signed for Benfica from Feyenoord for a club record 25 million euros ($26.9 million), the Portuguese champions announced on Saturday. The 22-year-old has signed a five-year deal. Kokku scored eight goals in 32 league appearances this season to help Feyenoord win their first Dutch Eredivisie title since 2017 and only their second in the 21st century. The Turkish football representative Orkun Kokcu made a record purchase of the Portuguese giant Benfica. The latter paid 25 million euros to the Dutch Feyenoord for the 22-year-old midfielder, before spending the most on international Darwin Nunez, for whom the Spanish Almeria paid a million less. The previous record deal for Benfica was of Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunes signed for 24 million euros from Spanish Almeria in 2020, before moving in 2022 to Liverpool, England.
