The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy highlights the latest developments on the Road to hosting FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022
A delegation from the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy participated in the Saint Petersburg Economic Forum, which concludes on Saturday, June 5th, 2021, with the participation of a group of experts, specialists and decision-makers. The Forum discusses the most important economic issues on the Russian and international arenas and emerging markets.
The delegation of the Supreme Committee present along with a high-level Qatari delegation has reviewed the latest developments in the country's preparations to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™️.
The Supreme Committee participation in the Forum discussion sessions besides the accompanying exhibition received special attention from the participants, during which they learned about the latest information on the stadiums, infrastructure projects for the FIFA World Cup Qatar, and the SC programs.
During a panel discussion entitled: "The Inclusive Economy and the Impact of Sports on the Social Sector", Fatima Al-Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Communication Department at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, reviewed the economic and social consequences of hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
In her speech, Al-Nuaimi said: "We have set our eyes from the beginning that FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™️ will be an opportunity to bring about cultural rapprochement between the GCC States and the various countries of the world to invest and proof that Football unites people equally, which we would like to emphasize during the largest sporting event of its kind in the world."
Al-Naimi indicated that FIFA World Cup Qatar will set new standards in the human, social, environmental and economic development thanks to the legacy's programs and other related projects, while the country is currently witnessing a positive boom at all these levels.
During her speech, Al-Naimi also revealed that, approximately 95% of the infrastructure of the projects for FIFA World Cup Qatar has already been completed.
At the conclusion of her speech, Al-Naimi expressed: "We are looking forward to hosting this event brings all celebrate together during the Qatar 2022 World Cup and let this tournament of unique and highly unforgettable days, and we are obviously all hopeful that we will be celebrating the FIFA World Cup in 2022 in a post-COVID-19 world the return of life to normal after the Covid-19 cast shadow over mankind health.
