After 5 years, Barcelona legend Iniesta leaves Vissel Kobe

Vissel Kobe, one of the leading competitors in the Japanese Football League, announced that former Spanish international and the 2010 World Cup winner announced that  Andres Iniesta would leave the J-League outfit in July. The former Barcelona midfielder, who turned 39 earlier this month, joined Kobe in 2018 after a stellar career with the Catalan club, where he won 30 titles and won the World Cup and the European Championship twice in a row with Spain. obe said in a statement: "We regret to announce the departure of Andres Iniesta from our club. For five years since he joined, we express our deep gratitude to Iniesta who made significant contributions to Vissel Kobe." Iniesta will leave Vissel Kobe after playing a home match against Consadole Sapporo at Neufair Stadium on the first of next July, and Vissel leads the league competition by three points from his closest competitors after 14 matches. Iniesta has played 133 matches with Kobe so far, winning the 2019 Emperor's Cup and the 2020 Japanese Super Cup.
